Helping Rural Children Access Early Education
Tunas Bajo Indonesia is a registered charity organization in Indonesia with a mission to provide access to education for children in rural areas in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara. We believe that education is the key to empowering underprivileged children and giving them a brighter future.
- Legal Establishment: Bajo Kiddy Fun House is established under the Tunas Bajo Indonesia Foundation (Decree No. AHU-0003746.AH.01.04 2023).
- Founding Purpose: The foundation was born out of a concern for the educational gap in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). While Labuan Bajo is a premium tourism destination, the quality of local education has often gone unnoticed.
- Core Philosophy: The foundation believes that education is the primary key to empowering children and providing them with a brighter future.
- Social Commitment: Through initiatives like the Foster Parents program, the foundation seeks to provide early learning access to children in remote areas who might otherwise be left behind.
Early education is crucial for the development of children, but many in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara lack the resources and support to provide it. Our charity program is committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has access to quality early education. Currently, Tunas Bajo Indonesia Foundation oversees two early childhood education centers: Bajo Kiddy and Sano Kiddy, both dedicated to excellence in early year’s development.
Founder notes:
With 20 years of experience as a kindergarten teacher and head
Elementary school in Bali, I have a strong desire to advance education in the East Nusa Tenggara area, especially for early childhood starting from West Manggarai, namely Labuan Bajo.
- Experience & Expertise: The founder is a dedicated educator with 20 years of experience as a kindergarten teacher and school principal in Bali.
- International Exposure: Her vision was strengthened by participating in teacher exchange and school quality development programs in Sydney, Australia.
- Personal Investment: Driven by a desire to improve education in Labuan Bajo, she self-funded the establishment of Bajo Kiddy Fun House as a fully functioning early education center.
Currently, there are 12 local teachers who are qualified for teacher education and teacher education has been specially trained to ensure that children get access to quality education as a basis for their future.
This basis is built from my concern about education that is left behind in NTT, both in remote areas and in the city of Labuan Bajo itself, which is called a super-premium tourism object, while the level of education is neglected.
Based on my teaching experience and organizing an early childhood education center, as well as conducting teacher exchange and school quality development in Sydney, Australia, my desire to develop education in the Labuan Bajo area is getting stronger. Bajo Kiddy Fun House is the first school I founded. This early childhood education center has met the play and learning needs of children at their age level. The 2nd Paud that has been established is Paud Sano Kiddy which is located in the remote village of Wae Sano, Sano Nggoang sub-district. So, I hope that through the establishment of Paud Bajo Kiddy, it can pave the way for a brighter future of Labuan Bajo with the presence of high-quality children. Greetings!

Was established in 2021 and is currently entering its fourth year of school operations for the 2025 – 2026 academic year.
Reflecting a commitment to high-quality service and education, has grown from a humble start with only 10 students to having successfully graduated three batches.

- Build the confidence in students, develop children’s curiosity and encourage children to recognize themselves, others and environment
- Prepare students for basic education with the achievement of Basic Competencies according to the child’s developmental stages.
- Curriculum: The school follows the Merdeka Curriculum, integrated with international approaches, Montessori concepts, and British National Curriculum standards for daily literacy and numeracy lessons.
- School Values: The school community is built on the values of being a Problem Solver, Critical Thinker, Open-Minded, Knowledgeable, Responsible, and Respectful .
- The Team: The school is supported by 10 certified local teachers and specialized staff ensuring students receive high-quality, foundational education.
